OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGULATORS

Preset regulators work on the indirect principle. The gas enters the regulator at high pressure and feeds past the valve into a larger chamber where it expands to fill the available space thereby lowering the pressure.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • OIL OR GREASE MUST NEVER BE ALLOWED TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH ANY REGULATOR, CYLINDER OR ASSOCIATED FITTINGS. THEY SHOULD NOT BE HANDLED WITH OILY OR GREASY HANDS, GLOVES OR RAGS.

CONNECTION TO THE CYLINDER

  • Cylinder should be located where they will not be knocked or contaminated with oil or grease and be securely supported in a vertical position.
  • Cylinder valves (except Hydrogen) should be “sniffed” (open and closed briefly) to dislodge water and foreign matter from the valves/ regulator inlet seating.
  • Regulator should be fitted using the correct size spanner. Adjustable spanners should not be used, as they will tend to turn the corners from the hexagon nuts. Excess force should not be required or used as it could damage the threads.

OPERATION PROCEDURE

Operating procedures vary from model to model and are dependent on the application. For detailed information please contact us with your exact requirement.

1. Connect the preset regulator, BPC flow meter with the knob {for flow} in the closed condition and Humidifier to the cylinder.

2. Open the cylinder valve, by operating the valve spindle gradually. Check and ensure that there is no leakage in the connection between the cylinder valve and the regulator.

3. Adjust the knob on the flow meter by turning anti clockwise, and set the same to the desired flow.

4. Connect the facemask / Nasal Cannula.

5. After the usage, the following sequence of activities shall be followed.

  • Close the knob on the flow meter.
  • Close the cylinder valve.
  • Open the Knob on the flow meter to release the entrapped gas from the cylinder outlet valve to the point of use.
  • Close the Knob of the flow meter.
  • The regulator if required is dismantled from the cylinder.

It is recommended that the above is carried out every time the regulator is not in use even for short periods.
